Original Sin Corp. Announces the Release of Original Sin Pear Cider

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 19, 2009 -- Original Sin Corp. announces the release of its pear cider. Original Sin Pear Cider is a dry premium alcoholic cider, the first spin-off from the company’s flagship hard apple cider beverage.

Original Sin Pear was developed in line with the company’s mission to produce traditional cider leaving out artificial flavors and additives. Original Sin Pear is light, refreshing and sorbate and gluten free. The product will be available in 12 ounce bottles and sold in 6-packs made from recycled paper.

Original Sin Pear goes well with a wide range of dishes, from white fish to more hearty classic American cuisine. Sin Pear is also perfect for cooking, adding a distinct taste of fall to any dish.

Pear cider is undergoing a revival in both the U.S. and Europe. This year in the U.K., pear cider sales are expected to double. One recent article described U.K. pear cider sales growth as ‘Cinderella like’ in the past year. In the U.S., it is expected that pear cider sales will experience impressive double-digit growth in 2009.

Original Sin began production of hard cider in 1997. Started on a shoestring, the original manufacturing facility was in the heart of upstate New York's apple region. After months of tasting and testing, Original Sin's founder, Gidon Coll, borrowed a pick-up truck from a friend and brought cases to the Lower East Side of New York City to launch his product. The original labels featured a 16-inch snakeskin design that had to be painstakingly applied by hand to each bottle. Twelve years later, Original Sin is still handcrafted and batch produced.

Over the years, Original Sin Hard Cider has received a wide range of critical acclaim. In 2003, the New York Times ranked Original Sin its "top American cider" in a blind taste-test of 21 ciders. With limited resources and a knack for grassroots marketing, the company has continued to grow and is currently available in 22 States, recently launching on the West Coast in California and Washington. Original Sin will begin exporting to the U.K. next month.
